Safety & Welfare
The safety of our staff and students is our highest priority, and numerous procedures are in place to ensure students and staff are happy and healthy.
Staff undergo a strict recruitment procedure, including multiple interviews, reference and qualification checks, and police background checks (DBS checks in the U.K.).
Staff training and induction is thorough, covering (but not limited to) first aid, safeguarding training and site-specific healthy and safety training.
During student inductions, rules for on-site living and off-site trips are given to ensure student safety. Fire alarms are tested regularly and evacuation drills are conducted.
A member of first-aid trained staff is on site at all times. Accommodation and classrooms have cameras in operation. Security staff are on duty 24 hours a day.
During excursions, students are adequately supervised by BlueSky staff, with strict staff to student ratios observed. A first aid kit is taken on every excursion, and students are briefed before each trip of any location-specific dangers or irregularities.
Safeguarding and child protection policy, health and safety policy, and PREVENT policy are available on BlueSky Education website.
