Course Overview
The China Global Youth Leadership Programme offers students an immersive journey across China’s leading cities and universities, combining academic enrichment, cross-cultural exchange, corporate exposure, and hands-on leadership development. Throughout the experience, students engage with top institutions such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Peking University, and others, while exploring China’s rich heritage, modern megacities, and fast-growing innovation ecosystem. Designed as an all-rounded study-abroad experience, the programme empowers students with global awareness, confidence, and future-ready leadership skills.
What You Will Learn
Students will learn how leadership is practiced in a global context, understand the forces driving China’s rapid development, gain exposure to top universities, and build future-ready skills such as public speaking, teamwork, cross-cultural communication, and personal resilience. They will also learn to appreciate China’s long history, modern technology, and unique blend of tradition and innovation.
Learning Objectives
This programme aims to strengthen students’ leadership capacity, communication skills, and cultural intelligence through real-world engagement. Students will develop a deeper understanding of China’s economic transformation, technological rise, and societal dynamics while building essential soft skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, adaptability, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Key Concepts
Students will explore core themes including global leadership, cultural immersion, innovation ecosystems, China’s economic development, modern vs. ancient China, corporate transformation, sustainability trends, and East-meets-West worldviews. These concepts are reinforced through university sessions, industry immersion, and experiential learning activities.
Activities
The programme includes university lectures, cultural exchange activities with local students, guided tours of historical and modern landmarks, workshops at top academic institutions, and industry visits to major companies such as Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, Geely, and more. Students also participate in leadership challenges, cultural workshops (tea ceremony, calligraphy, martial arts), and city explorations across Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou.
Outcome
By the end of the programme, students emerge as globally aware young leaders equipped with refined communication abilities, international exposure, and a well-rounded understanding of China’s global significance. They gain confidence navigating multicultural environments, develop practical leadership experience, and return home with broadened perspectives shaped by academic rigor and real-world learning.
