LEARNING IN ACTION

Students have the unique opportunity to have pre learning video calls with their teachers and future programme mates to understand the key concepts which will be covered in our Learning in Action programme. These concepts will be explored through our specialised excursions which focus on sustainable development goals.

Course Overview

Our programme has students explore local facilities, centres, and campuses to see first hand how certain sustainable development goals are executed successfully. Students will be guided with learning materials to make the most out of their excursions, enabling them to actively learn in each location and gain the most from their trip.

What You Will Learn

Students will learn the techniques of great leaders and public speakers throughout history, to prepare effective speeches and arguments, and how to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students.

  • Learning Objectives

To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of sustainable development goals and their practical implementation. Through a combination of pre-learning video calls, specialized excursions, and guided learning materials, students will gain knowledge and insights into how these goals are achieved in real-world settings.

  • Key Concepts

The key concepts covered in the programme revolve around sustainable development goals. These goals, as defined by the United Nations, aim to address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and environmental degradation. Students will learn about these goals and the strategies, initiatives, and practices employed to achieve them. Key concepts include understanding the interconnectedness of social, economic, and environmental factors, exploring innovative solutions, and promoting responsible and sustainable practices.

  • Activities

The programme offers a unique blend of educational activities and exploration. It begins with pre-learning video calls, during which students engage with their teachers and fellow participants to grasp the foundational concepts that will be covered in the programme. The core activities revolve around specialized excursions to local facilities, centers, and campuses, where students witness firsthand the successful implementation of sustainable development goals. These excursions provide opportunities for active learning, allowing students to apply their knowledge and engage with the surroundings. Throughout the programme, students are provided with learning materials to enhance their understanding and maximize their learning outcomes.

  • Outcome

The desired outcome of the programme is to empower students with a deep understanding of sustainable development goals and their practical applications. By immersing themselves in real-world contexts and witnessing successful implementations, students develop a holistic perspective on the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainable development. They gain insights into innovative solutions, best practices, and the importance of collaboration across various sectors. Ultimately, the programme aims to inspire students to become active contributors to creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for people and the planet.
