STEM Intensive Programme

Jobs in the field of STEM are among the fastest growing industries in the world, with demand from employers increasing every year. In this course students will gain new skills and have unique experiences that will open new doors for them across the globe, informed by Australia’s unique environment. Be just like a real scientist and learn lifelong skills as you challenge yourself to think, design and build during this fun intensive course.

Course Overview

This programme aims to give students foundational knowledge and raise interest in the fields of science and technology. Students will learn the basics of these subjects while engaging in fun, hands on experiments to put their newfound knowledge to the test. At the end of the week students will present their own science projects at the end of the week, improving speaking and presentation skills along with scientific knowledge.

 
 

What You Will Learn

Ever wondered how robots worked, how bridges and buildings stand up, or how technology is going to change our world in the future, then this is the course for you. Learn hands on skills that you can take home with you.
 
  • Introduction

    STEM careers are the fastest growing in the world, and some of the best paid, but there is still a shortage. This course seeks to not just introduce students to these fields but spark an interest in them that will last a lifetime.

  • Learning Objectives

    Learn foundational knowledge in a variety of subjects and be able to apply these principles to independent and group projects and develop the specific language to be able to talk about these projects/topics.

  • Key Concepts

    Creating and testing a theory, biodiversity and climate change, green technology, robotics, engineering and astronomy.

  • Activities

    In every lesson students will do fun in-class experiments to help solidify new knowledge. These in-class experiments are supplemented by further incursions and excursions where students will gain hands on knowledge in a variety of areas and even undertake their own fieldwork around Sydney like real scientists.
